Dear Families of Little Owl,
I am writing this letter to inform you that I have made the extremely difficult decision to resign from my job at Little Owl. Beginning on February 1st, I will be staying home with my children and refocusing my attention on my family and homeschooling my daughter. I have grappled with this decision for so long, and put it off because I value the connections and relationships I have cultivated throughout my decade here so wholeheartedly.
My heart aches knowing I won’t get to sing songs, read stories, feed the chickens, laugh and wander around barefoot with your children every day. I have considered the time I’ve worked here the most growthful time in my life. When I began working here, I had no children of my own and I was an enthusiastic, young teacher. I feel so privileged to have worked alongside so many amazing, brilliant, nurturing, and dedicated educators who have lifted me up, inspired me, laughed at my jokes, and challenged me to grow over the years. I admire them so deeply.
And lastly, I’d like to thank you all so very much…for sharing your stories with me, being vulnerable with me, giving me new perspectives to consider, and showing up to hear what I have to say. I have learned so much from my experience and conversations with all of you. I truly appreciate the support and validation I’ve received and will carry it with me as I step into the unfamiliar and begin to navigate my new sense of purpose.
With love and gratitude,
